Jurassic World's unintentional, but very racist line creates a major row

The reason for the controversy is the film’s dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus, pronounced (paak-ee-sef-a-low-saw-rus), that keeps escaping from its enclosure.

Jurassic World, This year’s biggest Hollywood blockbuster, finds itself embroiled in an unseemly – and perhaps unintentional – controversy, , according to The Independent.

And the reason for the row is the film’s dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus, pronounced (paak-ee-sef-a-low-saw-rus). Pachycephalosaurus is a lizard-like animal that keeps escaping from its enclosure.

A British comedian, Guzzy Bear, said that he was surprised to hear an apparently ‘racial slur’ in the movie every time the Pachycephalosaurus was called out.

Since the name of the dinosaur is rather long, one of the film’s characters refers to it by an abbreviated appellation, saying: “The Pachys are out of containment!"

Phonetically, the word sounds like the British racial slur ‘Paki’, an insulting term used for Pakistani immigrants.

This has caused a major furore on social media sites as many are planning to boycott the movie over the racial slur.
